No. YokeHill is a calm, peaceful swimming lake. Loud behaviour, disruptive play, roughhousing, splashing around or general tomfoolery are not suitable for this environment.
If you are looking for a family splash session or noisy water play, YokeHill will not be the right venue.
Do I need a tow float?
Yes. Tow floats are required for all swimmers. They help make swimmers more visible in the water and support safe open-water swimming.
Do I need to wear a wetsuit?
You can swim in either swimwear or a wetsuit, depending on your experience, confidence and the water temperature.
During colder conditions, a wetsuit may be strongly recommended. Please make a sensible decision based on your own ability and cold-water experience.
Do I need an induction?
No. You do not need a formal induction before swimming at YokeHill.

Yes, confident beginners are welcome, but YokeHill is an open-water swimming lake, not a swimming pool or splash venue.

Is there wildlife in the lake?
YokeHill is an old fishing lake, so there are likely to be some fish in the water. They are only a few inches long and are completely harmless.
